The Meaning of Shahadatain (the two testimonies)
Meaning of the testimony La ilaha illAllah is to believe and affirm that no one deserves worship except Allah, holding on to it and acting in accordance with it. 'La ilah' is negating that anybody has the right to be worshiped except Allah, whoever it might be. 'IllAllah' is affirming the Right of Allah Alone to be worshiped. So, the complete meaning of the statement is 'La Ma'bood BiHaqqin illAllah', 'there is no deity truly worthy of being worshiped except Allah.
The Meaning of the testimony, Muhammadar-Rasoolullah. It is to affirm inwardly and outwardly that he (sallalalhu alaihi wa-sallam) is a slave of Allah and His Messenger to all people, and to act in accordance to it's requirements which are;

Dawa is mandatory on every muslim
Dawa is a beautiful thing when it is doen the right way. So many non-muslims do not know much about Islam. They only judge it by what they see muslims who live nearby practice or do. And unfortunately most of the time, it is negative stuff that they are learning about our great religion. So it is our job to correct that wrong impression they have and show them how beautiful our religion is.
